Teriyaki Sesame Chicken 태리야끼 닭날개 – making the healthy choice

18 Nov

Although Teriyaki Sesame Chicken is found in many different cuisines, the recipe I used was stolen by me from a Korean cooking website. As far as I know, this dish is pretty modern and definitely considered as slow food (a counterproposal to fast food).

500g of chicken breasts,
1/2 cup of soy sauce,
1/2 cup of water,
4 tablespoons of sugar,
3 tablespoons of honey,
1 tablespoon of sesame oil,
2 tablespoons of starch.

Cut chicken breasts into strips. Mix the remaining ingredients and let chicken marinade in the mixture for at least 15 minutes.

Put the chicken and the sauce into a pot and let it cook over a high heat. It takes about 40 minutes to boil out the sauce. After it’s done, sprinkle the chicken with 2 tablespoons of roasted sesame seeds.
