Neutaribeo seotbokkeum 느타리버섯볶음 – wild about oyster mushrooms

Oyster mushrooms live up to their name – they look and taste like oysters. Neutaribeo seotbokkeum 느타리버섯볶음 is a popular and delicious side-dish (banchan) made from oyster mushrooms and your favorite vegetables. Though I couldn’t get oyster mushrooms and I’m using shiitake ones, I decided to share this recipe with everyone because it’s really worth trying.

240g of oyster mushrooms,
1 small carrot,
1 onion,
a few slices of green hot pepper,
1 clove of garlic (minced),
1 tablespoon of sesame oil,
1 tablespoon of roasted sesame seeds,
a pinch of black pepper,
1/2 teaspoon of salt.

Put mushrooms into boiling water. After a few minutes rinse them in cold water and slice. Cut carrot and onion into thin strips.

Pour sesame oil into a heated pan, add mushrooms and salt and fry for about 2 minutes. Add garlic and vegetables and let it cook for a bit, until the vegetables get soft. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and pepper. Serve.
